					<description><![CDATA[My parents boiling them then went to steaming them. My dad would slice an x into the bottom of the artichokes, about 1/4 of thickness of the hear.  They would cook a little faster. Then when the outer leaves meat portion, ( part closes to the base), were tender it was served with mayo or Miracle Whip ( preferred tast). I can&#039;t wait to batter and fry one!]]></description>
